If you manage any of the following, you no doubt have to find images for them:

  • Website pages

  • Blog posts

  • Content Management System image libraries

  • Presentations and other documents

With Dash, you can embed Dash assets straight into your sites and applications without having to manually download and upload them first.

What are the benefits of linking to an asset?

  • It is much faster! You don't need to manually download an asset and then upload it into your external application

  • It stays up to date. Once embedded in your application, the asset can automatically reflect any further changes you make to it in Dash (subject to your application's settings)

  • You can control visibility. If you need to stop the asset from being viewed externally, you can remove the link and this will immediately remove it from external applications.

  1. Open the asset in Dash that you want to embed in an external application

  2. Click the embed button </> and choose the size of asset you want to create

  3. Click "Copy" to copy the generated link to your clipboard

ℹ️ You can either create a link to the original size asset, pick from one of the preset sizes, or create your own resize or crop.

Adding an embedded asset into an external application

Once you have created your link, simply open up your external application, locate the option to add an embeddable image (look for "insert via URL", "Embed image" or similar - every application will be different), and paste in the link. Hey presto, your image should appear!

Here is an example of embedding an image into third party application Canva.
